"We won't have another day like this for a while."

It was absolutely gorgeous out today. There was just enough breeze, a warm beam of sun, and the perfect shade of leaves. On days like these, I am so in awe of the beauty in things that are out of my control. 

 

Cassie and I had a picnic outside for lunch. As we laid on our blanket, I could not believe it. The leaves were falling all around us and it seemed surreal. I loved that we shared about our tests, quizzes, joys and struggles this week. At the same time, being in the midst of the leaves falling and great weather, I couldn't help but feel peace in my heart. If there is a God who created so much beauty and is in control of the sun and the trees, there must be a God who has a wonderful plan for my life.

In between my classes, I loved sitting in the benches scattered around Butler's campus and just breathing in the autumn air. As students and teachers passed by, I loved observing the conversations and interactions between people. It made me really grateful to be at Butler. 

I loved sitting below a canopy of trees with Jessi before our Global Historical Studies (GHS) class. I love that we can enjoy COLD Starbucks drinks outside in late October! 

It's so fun to talk about coincidences. Jessi is in two of my classes this semester and I get to see her three times a week! We didn't even plan out our schedule that way but we both love that we can see each other so much. I don't know what I would do without her smiling face in my classes!

Speaking of coincidences, I got to see Mark today! Mark is also a Young Life leader at Carmel High School and I just love that I get to see him around campus. Today, I bumped into him on campus AND I got to give him his belated birthday present! I loved his reaction, even though he already knew what it was.

At night, I got to spend even more time outside enjoying the beautiful weather! At my church Redeemer, we have something called community groups. I finally got the chance to go to a community group for the first time today! I loved sitting around a bonfire, enjoying an awesome conversation about the sovereignty of God. Just staring into the flames of the fire, there are so many ways that God amazes me. 

I loved meeting Laura, Eric, David, Sharon, Will, Wes, and Gill. I love that we share a meal around the table and that we have a creative name for our group. :) 

Although we are all from different places, and at different stages of life and I love that we can come together. I can't wait for all the discussions we're gonna share, all the laughter, and all the great things I'm gonna get to learn from them!
